You can never stop surprising me, can u?

how would i even guess that bones are so much more complicated than it looked?

when i heard we are going to have a Bones and Joints Module when almost every other 1st year students are having study leave for their end of semester exams, i thought, "Argh, it would just be a lot of long latin names to know for all the different bones of the body, and perhaps a bit about how our joints are like. I mean, what else is there to Bones and Joints?"

Bones. The last thing of me to disappear from the face of the earth...there are many bones, but interesting? nah, how can it be? it's just some hard thing, right?

Then, i saw the Biochemistry lecturer in charge of one of our bone lectures.

Biochemistry. Bones. Biochemistry. Bones. Huh?

Ain't bones just pieces of hard stuff? It's no way as complicated as the heart, or the lungs, or any other organs, or is it? Yes, without it you'd die. But how special can it be?

And then, slowly, the complexity of these "white, hard stuff", were revealed to me. And surprised i was. Again.

On the other hand, i was reading a random blog by some medical officer in Sabah. And he wrote something interesting.

"People watch ER, Gray’s Anatomy and Scrubs and thinks real-life doctors behave and think like George Clonney’s Dr. Doug in ER. Most doctors don’t watch ER or Gray’s Anatomy. They watch House and start behaving like House. The problem starts when they treat patients like House does without the corresponding intelligence and acumen. They end up being rude, arrogant and stupid doctors."

Ironic, but there is a truth behind it. But i hope i don't turn into a stupid version of House though. :)
