Winter wonderland.

i always had this 'winter wonderland' feeling about snow. It seemed so beautiful, so amazing and so romantic in movies. Until that screen that blocked me from the real world was uncovered.

Ok, snow is still good, any weather is. But snow with strong winds is the last thing i ever want to see... at least for the next couple of days. Rain is no better. By that i actually mean that rain is good, but excessive rain, no matter how light it is can drive me crazy.

Weather account:
Wed: wore layer after layer of clothes because i had to dress smart to see patients and my smart clothes were thinner and i saw the weather forecast predicting rain. Real weather? SUNNY AND HOT!

Thur: Thought i learned my lessons. Did not wear as many layers. Little drizzle in the morning before i went for breakfast. Heavy rain after breakfast, which was then accompanied by extremely strong winds about 5 minutes later. And after probably another 5 minutes, the rain decided to turn to snow/hail/sleet. And with that mad mad wind, the snow/hail/sleet just smashed every place possible. And i had this one big uncovered place on my body just because it has to be uncovered. And that place got to be ultra sensitive. My face. It just kept whacking and whacking all over my face, and some right into my eye even though my glasses were intact. Drenched despite wearing waterproof, mainly because snow get stuck on my jacket and melts and drips down to guess what? my jeans! horrible wearing wet jeans in a lecture. It was really cold, shivers doesn't seem to help. And no extra dry clothing to put on to warm myself up. Plain horrid. Rain after that, snow wasn't enough to give that white look of edinburgh, or give us the joy of snowball fighting. At least when you injure yourself, you get release of endorphins to give you pleasure. Snow doesn't give that to you unless it's heavy enough. And man, edinburgh's weather just seem to be the nasty one. Won't be foreseeing any snow in calm air anytime soon. But that would be great.

Fri: Weather forecasted as low level clouds and rainy. Finally this was true. But was so grumpy when i woke up after hearing that same old howling noise outside of that crazy gail of Edinburgh, the same one which i slept to. Man, it was windy the entire night, and it didn't stop. For rain, at least it stops when things dry up. But wind... Just so so different. Didn't bother to dress formal even though it was 'meet the GP' thing today. But heck, i don't wanna reach there dress smartly but drench. Seen several umbrellas ruined today. Whoever invented the umbrella was clearly not from Edinburgh. It's just junk here.

Conclusion: Check the weather forecast but don't trust it. Or don't check the weather forecast and just be prepared for all 4 seasons in a day, as long as you are in Edinburgh.

But it was quite sad to see that same old woman who has been begging for money outside King's Hall sitting there in the rain just stretching her cup even though it was freaking cold and any sane mind would follow his/her survival instinct to go indoors. Thank God for shelter. for clothes. for money. for everything. But i hope that i won't forget that woman, because i don't want to be part of the professional society later while 'not giving a damn' like those Jewish businessmen in the show The Pianist where other Jews were dying after Hitler's army confine them to the ghetto resulting in overcrowding and outbreak of diseases. I don't want to be like them and enjoy their music, their gourmet food, their wines, their tobacco, cosmetics and whatever else and 'not give a damn', as long as i can do something.
