okay. technically, that's a lie.
i didn't wake up. i just didn't sleep.
was so engrossed with something that i didn't realise time passing. emsa stuff again. i really shouldn't work at night. it's just so quiet i don't realise time passing. until i heard the cock crow, and the fajar azan. They have started fasting while i haven't had a tiny bit of sleep yet. but i wasn't tired. i was engrossed. I really really really shouldn't work at night.
But nevertheless, that's not why i'm writing this.
Have u seen daybreak? Even once?
It's such a beautiful sight. It's amazing how fast the sun rises, though the intellectual might go on with their nerdy arguments that as a matter of fact it should be how amazing the earth spins. It was such a beautiful morning that i just got up of bed and stood in awe.
yes, i'm 18 going on 19, and i probably have 18.5 x 365 sunrises in my lifetime, but oh, when i could just stand still and watch the light pierce the darkness, the glow of light, changing from that dim speck of light at the horizon (though blocked by my neighbour's house), into something that radiates and pierce through every bit of darkness, that awesome glory of the light shining over the earth, the sky getting it's blue back, with a bit of hue which blends into a perfect purplish pink. This has got to be the worst description ever of the most beautiful thing i've ever seen. But i just gotta say it. it's too pretty that i keep thinking about it.
yet, it's so easy to forget about such beauty. for it's always there (here in kuching... far from it in edinburgh). we human beings are weird. we just don't appreciate what we have till it's gone. Like, i don't really know anyone who appreciates air.
Ah, sunlight. I'm gonna miss you. You remind me of God's love. Don't let the clouds make me forget your goodness, or the rain wash away my contentment.
i gotta start packing tomorrow. though my heart has fallen in love once again with my hometown and the people in it, yearning to stay just a bit longer, but i'm excited to go at the same time and open my "box of chocolates".
